Are you suffering from the “GAP”?

The GAP is a very serious condition that is taking the world by storm, plaguing millions. While the symptoms are subtle they’re very real: stagnation, recurring disappointments, financial disarray, guilt, despair, self-loathing, cynicism, poor relationships, and inner turmoil. Fortunately, the cause is no secret. People afflicted with the GAP experience these symptoms most strongly when they come face to face with the following, they know it would be in their best interest to adopt a specific lifestyle change and they simply can’t get themselves to do so, at least not consistently. They know what to do but don’t do it. They have the knowledge but don’t apply it. This is the GAP or Genuine Application Problem.

Most of time the GAP exists in only a few areas of a person’s life, but the consequences can be so devastating it gravely impacts the whole. It could be something as simple as cutting sodium from their diet in order to reduce their blood pressure or putting money aside in order to save enough for their retirement. Whatever the issue, nothing creates more self-inflicted stress than when our actions are inconsistent with our beliefs. Those who struggle with the GAP for an extended period of time suffer a severe side effect: major damage to their level of self-worth and confidence. We can fail ourselves only so many times before our self-esteem takes a beating.

Motivation is not the problem

Do the following statements resonate with you?

  • 1. I would be much better off if I improved this one aspect of my life.
  • 2. I know what I have to do in order to improve the situation.
  • 3. I’m having a really hard time doing those things consistently.

We have a misconception that if we only cared enough about something, we would be motivated and make the necessary changes. But that’s not true. You care about your health. You want to make more money and enjoy a better quality of life. You want to communicate better. You’d love to spend more quality time with your family. Your level of desire to improve these areas is not in question. The problem for most of us isn’t motivation—it’s application. How you go about changing your ways is just as important as why you want to.

We are creatures of habit

Let's face it, we’re very predictable beings. We rarely sway from our usual ways of: thinking, eating, sleeping, drinking, exercise, working, playing, communicating, and spending. It’s not five days of intense training at the gym, a couple more prospecting calls to clients, or one more declaration of love that will produce the tangible differences you seek. Anyone can do that, and most people have. The fact is we become what we do, but more importantly, we become what we do repeatedly! Success and happiness are not the result of single acts of heroism or a matter of luck; they are the fruit of good habits.

There’s no two ways about it; whatever it is you want to achieve, obtain or become requires a change in how you conduct yourself on a regular basis. You will not dramatically improve your life until you alter something you do daily. The positive results you desire will be the product of smart choices and actions repeated consistently over time. Therein lies the challenge: instilling new routines in the place of poor habits, most of which have been a part of your life for years.

What you need is LEVERAGE

Would you attempt to pull out a bunch of nails with your bare hands? How about open a corked bottle of wine? You wouldn’t. Without even thinking about it you would most likely grab a claw hammer and a corkscrew. Why? Because the leverage these tools provide help turn a rather daunting challenge into a really simple task, requiring significantly less effort on your part. We use leverage practically everyday to accomplish things such as: eat, open, tighten, carry, and lift with the help of levers like: nutcrackers, crowbars, wrenches, wheel barrows, and car jacks. What most people don’t know however, is that there are also levers that make the changing or adopting of a new behavior a much easier undertaking than winging it or going cold turkey.

Four levers - one much needed cure

The Academy of Knowledge & Application is excited to bring you C4the four powerful levers that facilitate dramatic change and lead to explosive results! These four levers: Cognition, Causation, Conditioning & Consistency, will give you the leverage you need to successfully adopt those important lifestyle changes that have been escaping you until now as well as help you integrate new ideas and concepts with much greater ease and remarkable speed.

The old adage holds true; keep doing what you’ve always done and you’ll keep getting what you always got. Different results require different behaviors and different behaviors require a powerful structure. A structure that facilitates and enables your new conduct, not feed your previously conditioned pattern. Self-control is not something given to only a special few at birth, it is a muscle that can be developed by everyone with the help of  C4 !

Some people will require only a single lever in order to bridge the GAP and achieve the personal breakthrough they seek. Others will require all four—no matter. The outcome will be the same; a tremendous shift towards the life you’ve been dreaming of! You will never view transformation in the same light again as the C4 Levers make real, lasting change, a much simpler task.
